Organizing a youth exchange means more than planning logistics. It’s about ensuring that each young person—especially those with fewer opportunities—feels safe, supported, and empowered throughout the experience.
To help youth workers achieve this, the Network for Inclusion of Associazione Joint has developed three practical resources:
-
Pre-Departure & Support Guidelines: a framework to prepare participants before departure, covering topics like expectations, safety, Youthpass, and group dynamics. Special focus is given to inclusion, legal guardians, travel arrangements, and financial barriers.
-
Follow-Up & Dissemination Guidelines: tools for reflection and impact. These help organizations evaluate the exchange, support Youthpass completion, and co-design meaningful dissemination events—especially those aimed at reaching vulnerable youth.
-
Safeguarding Policy: a detailed protocol to protect young people from abuse, discrimination, and neglect. It defines roles, reporting procedures, and appropriate responses, emphasizing the responsibilities of caregivers, leaders, and organizations.
Each document aligns with the core values of the network: inclusion, transparency, and youth empowerment. Together, they offer a structured yet adaptable model to create transformative and safe international experiences.
