Programme: Erasmus+ | Action Type: Mobility of Young People
Countries Involved: Norway, Croatia, Lithuania, Turkey, Romania, Greece

Background
The project Action4Eco was created to support young people who want to take action on environmental and social issues. It focused on the urgent need to raise awareness about climate change and ecological challenges, while also encouraging young people to become active citizens in their local and international communities.

Objectives
The main goal of the project was to raise awareness about ecological problems and explore possible solutions. Specific objectives included improving participants’ knowledge about environmental issues, using social media campaigns to share awareness, and encouraging tolerance, cooperation, and equal participation among youth from different backgrounds.

Implementation
The project was carried out as an eight-day youth exchange hosted in Viken, Norway, from 1st to 9th April 2022. Six organizations from different European countries worked together to create the program. Participants were young people between 18 and 30 years old, including those with fewer opportunities, ensuring diversity and inclusion.

Key Activities
During the exchange, young people took part in workshops, reflection groups, and creative activities. The program included teamwork tasks designed to promote gender balance, cultural understanding, and equal participation. Social media was also used as a tool to spread awareness about environmental protection and sustainability.

Results
The youth exchange provided participants with new knowledge and skills in environmental activism, communication, and cooperation. They learned how to design campaigns, lead initiatives, and motivate others to take action for the environment. The program also improved their English skills, teamwork, and ability to reflect critically on global ecological issues.

Impact
The project left a positive impact on both the participants and their communities. Young people returned home with stronger motivation to lead local actions and campaigns promoting sustainability. Their activities inspired others to start small but meaningful changes for the environment. On a larger scale, the project created a network of environmentally aware youth who are ready to act as ambassadors for ecological responsibility.
