Background
Young people today need more than formal education to succeed in society. Many face challenges related to employment, civic participation, and digital skills. The Active Youth Hub project was created to respond to these needs and to support young people in becoming active, confident, and engaged citizens.
Objectives
The main goal of the project was to develop practical tools and guidance to improve youth employability. It focused on active citizenship, entrepreneurship, and digital skills. The project also aimed to support youth workers, educators, and policymakers with evidence-based resources.
Implementation
The project was implemented through close cooperation between partner organisations from different European countries. Research, testing, and feedback were key parts of the process. Non-formal education methods and innovative approaches ensured that the tools were relevant and easy to use.
Key Activities
Partners carried out qualitative research to better understand young people’s needs. They used design thinking, SCRUM, and debate methods to develop new tools. The project team also reviewed existing good practices and created new learning resources for youth educators.
Results
The project produced clear guidelines for youth workers on promoting active citizenship and entrepreneurship. It also developed a digital escape room and a physical card game for young people. In addition, policy recommendations and standards were created for youth organisations and decision-makers.
Impact
Active Youth Hub strengthened cooperation between youth organisations across Europe. It improved the quality of youth work and supported young people in developing key life skills. The project helped build a stronger connection between education, participation, and future employment opportunities for youth.
