Status: Completed | Duration: March 2022 – February 2024 | EU Grant: 20,059 EUR
Programme: Erasmus+ | Action Type: Mobility of Youth Workers
Countries Involved: Spain, Romania, Slovenia, Bulgaria, Croatia, Italy, Latvia, Finland, Hungary

Background

The project Artpreneurship was born from the collaboration between breakdancer and entrepreneur Nando Amador and the Association Almenaras. It responded to the growing need to support young people who wish to develop careers in the arts while also gaining practical business and management skills. The project recognized that many young artists lack access to tools that help them turn their creativity into sustainable professional paths.

Objectives

The main goal of Artpreneurship was to train 18 youth workers from nine European countries to support young artists in their communities. The project aimed to show participants how to combine creativity with entrepreneurship, helping them increase their employability and visibility in the art world. Other key objectives included learning about event organization, education, and merchandising as forms of artistic entrepreneurship, and promoting awareness of the true social and cultural value of art.

Implementation

The project took the form of a youth worker training course hosted in Málaga, Spain. Each partner organization selected two participants with experience in youth work, arts, or entrepreneurship. The learning process included both theoretical and practical elements, encouraging peer learning and intercultural exchange. Participants developed skills in using digital tools, social media, and personal branding — all essential in today’s creative industries.

Key Activities

The activities included interactive workshops, discussions, and practical exercises on business management, art-based entrepreneurship, and portfolio development. Participants learned how to design an artistic CV, manage events, and create educational or cultural projects. They also met inspiring local figures from Málaga’s creative and entrepreneurial sectors and organized a public art event at Rancho Limón. These activities provided real-life examples of how art and entrepreneurship can successfully merge.

Results

The project produced several tangible results, including audiovisual guides on creating artistic CVs and portfolios, and a series of video tutorials on entrepreneurship in the arts. A European network of organizations working in art and youth development was also created. These resources help young artists gain visibility and practical knowledge to grow their careers, while youth workers now have stronger tools to support them.

Impact

Artpreneurship had a wide impact on participants, partner organizations, and local communities. Youth workers improved their skills in creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurship education. Partner NGOs expanded their international cooperation and developed new opportunities in the art and cultural sectors. Locally, the project promoted employability and inspired collaboration between artists, educators, and young entrepreneurs. On an international level, all partner organizations committed to continue the exchange of ideas and good practices beyond the project’s duration.
