Background
The project Green Minds Clean Lives was created by Salta Fronteiras Associação, a non-profit organisation from Portugal. The organisation has many years of experience in non-formal education for young people and adults. During its work, it identified a need for better knowledge about sustainability and more modern teaching methods. This project aimed to respond to these needs.
Objectives
The main goal of the project was to improve environmental education for adults. It focused on developing staff skills in sustainability and green practices. Another important aim was to update educational programmes and increase environmental awareness in the local community. The project also wanted to help staff use new knowledge in their daily work.
Implementation
The project included the mobility of 12 staff members who took part in a specialised training in Turkey. The training was organised by CEKDEV and focused on innovative sustainability practices. Participants learned new methods and tools that they could later apply in their organisation. This experience also encouraged exchange of ideas and international cooperation.
Key Results
As a result of the project, staff improved their knowledge and skills in environmental education. They became more confident and motivated to use new teaching methods. The organisation updated its existing programmes and created new activities focused on sustainability. These changes helped make learning more practical and engaging.
Impact and Conclusion
The project had a positive impact on both the organisation and the local community. New activities helped raise awareness about environmental issues among adults and young people. Salta Fronteiras Associação is now better prepared to deliver innovative and structured educational programmes. Overall, the project showed how international learning can support local development and promote sustainable lifestyles.
