Project Background

Our Earth, Our Voice was created to help young people become more involved in environmental protection and sustainable living. The project also responded to the need for better training and practical resources for youth workers, who wanted new methods to engage young people in environmental activities.

Special attention was given to young people with fewer opportunities, ensuring they could take part in community initiatives and develop the confidence to become active citizens.

Project Objectives

The project aimed to improve the skills of youth workers by providing practical tools and non-formal education methods focused on sustainability and climate action. These new competences helped them organise more engaging environmental activities for young people.

Another important objective was to encourage young people to adopt eco-friendly habits, participate in local environmental actions, and become more aware of their impact on the environment. The project also strengthened cooperation between partner organisations and promoted the exchange of good practices.

Project Implementation

The project included a wide range of international and local activities. Partners worked closely together through regular meetings, planning sessions, and evaluation to ensure high-quality implementation.

One of the main activities was the Green Generation training course, where 16 youth workers took part in a seven-day programme focused on sustainability, climate change, and innovative learning methods. Participants later used these skills in their own organisations and communities.

Key Activities

The project organised six local environmental events involving around 120 young people. These activities encouraged participants to take part in community actions, environmental campaigns, and awareness-raising initiatives.

Partners also created a Booklet of Green Methodologies with practical tools and best practices for youth workers. In addition, six episodes of the Green Talks – Building a Better Future podcast were produced to promote sustainable lifestyles and environmental responsibility. The project results were shared through both online and in-person dissemination events.

Project Results

The project delivered both practical resources and measurable results. Youth workers significantly improved their ability to organise sustainability activities, while young people became more motivated to participate in environmental and civic initiatives.

More than 1,300 young people were reached through project activities and campaigns, leading to higher awareness of environmental issues. Sixty young people with fewer opportunities were actively involved and empowered to participate in their communities.

Impact on Participants and Organisations

Participants developed new knowledge about climate action, green skills, and active citizenship. Youth workers gained practical experience that they can continue using in future educational programmes.

Partner organisations also strengthened their capacity to work on environmental education and international cooperation. The project improved collaboration between partners and created a stronger network for future Erasmus+ initiatives.

Long-Term Impact

Our Earth, Our Voice demonstrated that young people can play an important role in protecting the environment when they receive the right support and opportunities. By combining education, practical action, and international cooperation, the project encouraged lasting behavioural change and stronger community engagement.

The methods, educational materials, and partnerships developed during the project will continue to support environmental awareness and youth participation long after the project has ended.
