Soft Skills Toolbox

The PSSSST toolbox is an innovative resource born from an Erasmus+ project, blending embodiment practices with silence to foster personal growth and self-awareness. By focusing on learning through the body, this toolbox offers practical tools for enhancing both daily life and professional environments.

What is the PSSSST Toolbox?

PSSSST, short for “Participative Somatic Soft Skills Training,” is a unique training method that invites participants to explore self-awareness and communication through the body. This approach combines physical embodiment techniques with the powerful experience of silence, offering new ways to perceive and interact with the world around us.

Developed by Moave, a psychology-in-movement initiative, PSSSST encourages participants to use body awareness as a key to unlocking personal and professional growth. You can learn more about their work at www.moave.si.

The Goals of the PSSSST Toolbox

The PSSSST training aims to:

  1. Promote Self-Awareness
By engaging in embodiment practices, participants become more in tune with their bodies, allowing them to gain deeper self-awareness and insight into their thoughts, emotions, and physical state.
  2. Enhance Communication and Empathy
The workshops focus on expanding participants’ ability to perceive and communicate through non-verbal means. This strengthens empathy and helps build more resilient relationships, both personally and professionally.
  3. Build Resilience and Peacebuilding Skills
Through the experience of silence and embodied reflection, participants develop stronger peacebuilding capacities and learn to approach challenges with greater resilience.

How Does It Work?

The PSSSST toolbox is structured around workshops that participants from the second edition of the project designed. These workshops took place in the forests of Slovenia in March 2024, and they explore how insights gained through embodiment and silence can be applied to real-life situations. The tools are meant to translate these new learnings into practical skills that can be used in everyday life and work settings.

Why Silence and Embodiment?

Silence creates a powerful space for reflection and personal exploration. In PSSSST, silence is used as a tool to deepen participants’ understanding of themselves and others. Paired with embodiment practices—where participants learn through physical movement and body awareness—this combination fosters a holistic approach to personal and professional growth.

Who Can Benefit from PSSSST?

This toolbox is ideal for anyone looking to enhance their soft skills through a unique, body-centered approach. It’s especially beneficial for trainers, educators, and professionals in fields requiring empathy, communication, and emotional resilience. Whether you are looking to grow personally or apply these skills in a work setting, PSSSST provides a comprehensive framework for self-discovery and development.
