From 9 to 19 September, Associazione P.E.Co. held the “Roadmap” youth exchange in Genoa, involving 36 young people from Italy, Bulgaria, France, Lithuania and the Czech Republic. The aim of the project was to support the participants in creating a map of personal short-, medium- and long-term goals to achieve a desired change, also by identifying small daily actions from which to start.

Roadmap

To do this, we built a path that, through guided meditation activities and non-formal education methodologies, helped them to

  • Become more aware of themselves, especially in terms of skills, talents, qualities.
  • Define the change (big or small) desired to turn their lives around
  • Acquire reality analysis tools that are also used in business, such as the Problem and Solution Tree and the Theory of Change
  • Define an action plan from a given problem: to do this, we used the Business Model Canvas.

Furthermore, participants had the opportunity to meet local realities, such as the social cooperative Ce.Sto. and the young founders of the start-up PESTOP.

Considering the theme and objectives of the project, the youth exchange mainly involved young people who had just finished their studies (school or university), or who had just finished their studies and had not yet started working (NEET), or who had already been working but were not working at the time of the Youth Exchange, either because they had been made redundant or because they were dissatisfied with their career.

The methodologies used will be compiled in a toolkit, which will be published in the coming months.
