Project Background
The project Agroecological Youth Education for Future was created to respond to the lack of educational materials on agroecology in secondary education. Partners identified that young people and teachers had limited access to clear and engaging resources about sustainable agriculture. The project also answered the need for more creative and interactive learning methods in youth education.
Project Objectives
The main goal of the project was to support youth education in agroecology through both formal and non-formal learning. The partnership aimed to develop a complete educational curriculum and innovative tools that explain agroecology in a simple and attractive way. Another key objective was to strengthen the skills of youth workers and educators in using creative and artistic methods in teaching.
Implementation and Activities
The project was implemented through three international training activities and several multiplier events. Trainings took place in Italy, France, and Greece and focused on educational farms, urban farming, storytelling, and creative tools. Multiplier events were organised in partner countries to share results directly with young people and educators.
Key Results and Outputs
The project produced three main educational tools: an agroecology curriculum, a comic, and a board game. All materials were created in the languages of the partner countries. Over 100 students and professionals contributed to the comic and game, making the outputs highly collaborative and youth-friendly.
Impact and Achievements
The results were tested with young people and educators and received very positive feedback. The board game and curriculum were already used in schools and youth activities. The project improved access to quality education on sustainable agriculture and promoted learning through creativity, participation, and hands-on experience.
Conclusion
Agroecological Youth Education for Future successfully combined education, creativity, and sustainability. It supported young people in understanding agroecology and empowered educators with practical tools. The project also serves as a strong example of innovative youth work within the Erasmus+ programme.
