Introduction
Discover “Youth Work 5.0”!
This course helps you learn how to use digital tools and AI in youth work responsibly and inclusively. You’ll gain the skills to integrate these technologies effectively and understand how they can help you in various aspects of youth work.
The course will take place in St. Pölten, Austria, from April 15th to 20th 2024.
Participants will explore how digital tools can enhance various aspects of youth work, including project management, social media use, direct engagement with young people, and designing websites and posters.

The project
The training “Youth Work 5.0” will last four full days (plus arrival and departure days) and focuses on hands-on learning through simulation exercises, workshops, info sessions, and other fun activities.
Participants will actively participate in practical sessions, reflect on their experiences, and gain valuable insights and ideas for their work with young people.
Moreover, they’ll get to use various tools like Actionbound, Canva, Padlet, Instagram, Kahoot, Google Workspace, Jackbox, Podio, Miro, TikTok, ChatGPT, and other AI tools.
The objectives of the project
In particular, the course has the following objectives:
- Learn about the latest digital tools and tech trends for youth work
- Acquire hands-on skills for using digital tools and AI in everyday youth work
- Promote critical thinking about the ethics of using AI and digital tools in youth work.
The target group
The organisation is seeking individuals who engage directly with young people, as well as those in management, leadership, and project coordination roles.
This could encompass youth workers, teachers, trainers, educators, managers, leaders, coaches, social workers, counselors, or community workers.
The primary requirement is active involvement in youth work in an educational capacity or oversight of youth-focused activities.
Also proficiency in English and a basic understanding of technical tools are prerequisites.
The costs
This project is funded by ERASMUS+ program’s participating National Agencies. The participation fee differs by country. Reach out to your National Agency to find out the fee for participants from your country.
- Accommodation and Food:
The hosting National Agency will arrange and cover the costs for accommodation and meals. - Travel Expenses:
Your sending National Agency will help with your travel costs. Once selected, contact your National Agency or SALTO to learn how to book your travel tickets and get reimbursed for your travel expenses.
