Project Background

The project “CLUE – Game for Inclusion” was created to support young people, especially those with fewer opportunities, and help them feel more included in society. Many young people, particularly in rural areas, feel disconnected from their communities and unsure about their role in social life. After the COVID period, this need became even stronger. The project focused on building understanding of diversity, tolerance, and multiculturalism. It aimed to help young people become active citizens who respect differences and take responsibility for creating more inclusive communities.

Implementation

The project included two main stages. First, an Advanced Planning Visit took place in Budapest, where group leaders and participants prepared the programme, shared responsibilities, and discussed participants’ needs. This ensured that the activities matched real expectations. The second stage was the youth exchange in Hollókő. Local preparation meetings and follow-up evaluations supported both stages. Young people were directly involved in planning and organising activities, which strengthened their engagement and ownership of the learning process.

Main Activities and Methods

The project used games and non-formal education as its main learning tools. Participants explored what social inclusion means and how it works in different countries. They shared experiences, discussed challenges, and learned from each other’s cultural backgrounds. Interactive activities, simulations, and teamwork helped participants understand diversity and cooperation in practice. By creating and analysing educational games, they discovered how playful methods can support learning, communication, and positive social change.

Results and Key Outcomes

Participants developed important personal and social skills such as communication, teamwork, leadership, and creative thinking. They gained a deeper understanding of inclusion and learned how young people can help build more open communities. The project also strengthened intercultural awareness and respect for different perspectives. Youth workers improved their professional skills by learning new creative methods. Overall, the project helped participants connect games, education, and social inclusion in meaningful and practical ways.

Conclusion

“CLUE – Game for Inclusion” showed that games can be powerful tools for learning and social change. The project helped young people become more confident, active, and open-minded. It encouraged them to promote tolerance, acceptance, and cooperation in their communities. By combining intercultural exchange with creative learning methods, the project created lasting personal growth and stronger awareness of inclusion across Europe.
